sewing machine problems

Well, today its snowing like crazy. Started about 6 am and kept it up til noon. Snow was very heavy and wet. Kids are gonna love it. Chance had a basket ball game on Saturday morning and they won. He was so excited he called me to say he is a "blocker" .He called a little later and said he lost a tooth too. That kid is a mess. He was waiting for the toothfairy to leave him some money . He said that 2 great things happened to him , his tooth and winning the ball game. Little stinker. Today I've been working on my sewing machine. The race is broken and it will have to go to the shop . The kids call it the machine hospital. hehehe Ali seems to have had strep this weekend. I hope the boys don't get it. Wonder how they are liking the snow. It'll probably be gone by the time school is out. We'll see. Ferris , our neighbor is gonna let Chance use his basketball goal to practice on til Caymen gets a little bigger. I think they will be good buddies. I mean Caymen and Chance. If yall have not signed up for TAST or the cqjournal project , get over there and do it. We're gonna have fun . Fun for all. Newbies and experienced alike can join and learn something new. I started out the month of November with the darn flu. What a drag . So while I was sittin and sick I decided to make my gkids all a scripture bag for church. The pictures will follow this post.
NOW , I've gotten into a great challenge. Kathy aka Shawkl has decided to challenge us to a year of crazy quilting 6 inch squares. We will not send these on to others , we'll keep 'em all to make into a quilt, tote or whatever we decide. There won't be any judging on these , except by ourselves. So yall join us now

Also I found a OLD sewing machine from Japan. Its brand name is YOUNKERS . Wierd little dude but it hums like a new one. And it was given to me . Wow!!! I love these old metal sewing machines. I like to take 'em apart and clean 'em up then put 'em back together. I think this is called "cheap labor". hehehehe So now I have a 1909 Singer electric, a 1889 Singer Treadle and this Younkers. I already had 2 new Brother
machines and a Singer Simplicity from my MIL. so ya might say "I"m sewing machine poor". Frank thinks I'm nuts .heheheh Keeps me busy , so I keep at it. Gotta go for now. Hugs to all

Yall, I have indeed fallen down on getting my posts out. Sorry 'bout that.......We had to have 2 of our furbabies put to sleep. Both born in , both blind , one had a few strokes and the other had a very bad heart condition. So our vet told us it would be kinder to put them to sleep. I cried for 3 days. Its gettin better now . But my little Haley was the sweetest little dog ever born. Gonna miss her like crazy. My little Ziggy was my partner at all times. No matter how bad he hurt , he'd always get up and go where ever I went. Yep, even to the bathroom. He'd just sit and wait on me no matter what I was doin. OMG crying again. Gotta go. Till next time. Well here it is the 6 th of Febuary. We already have snow on the ground and today we're lookin to get more snow plus an ice storm. Dang it , all we need now is a tornado. Not really. But if ya don't like the weather in Arkansas , just stick around and it'll change to your liking. Weird weather here. Now Al Gore has decided that global warming is the reason we're havin all these freakin snow and ice storms. What a jerk !!!! Now for all you liberals ( and I love you too ) how the heck can you believe this crap???? It boggles the mind !
Movin on, Frank is still makin trunks. I'm waitin on a couple more to be finished before I post pictures. So hang in there,ok?
It seems like everybody in the state has had or is havin now or will have the flu . That stuff is awful.My little grandkids have all had it at least once. A couple act like they may be commin down with it again. Hope not.
Thanks to my friend Linda Davies for sendin me a special little present today. Linda, I love it and will use it often. Eventually. You know what I mean. hehehehe

Winter in Arkansas

Well, for Christmas we had a warm front and now we have a cool front and this weekend we'll be havin 60 degrees . One thing about Arkansas if ya don't like the weather , just wait a while and it's gonna change.
I've been workin on another cq project. I'm using the Christmas Angel stocking that Lyn Gaskill sent me. She made me the most beautiful stocking yall ever saw. I'll post a photo soon as I can . Also, my DH is making trunks . Yall gonna see 'em. I'm gonna post photos as soon as tomorrow. Wait till ya see them.These that I'll photo tomorrow all have round over tops. He made me an oak one for some of my things.
Boy oh boy, is retirement great? NOOOOO. Not enough money, too much time and not enough to do. In a work, it sucks !!!!!!

Well, here I am again. I'm tryin to remember to post more often than just once in a while. Ok now what??? Well, I've at least found my chair and a place to put my diet coke so I can post. Sooooo, that means that I have also found my 'puter. YIPPIE maybe this new years resolution will work out for me. At least its a start !! I finally got all of my fabric in shelves , 2 nightstands and a dresser and only 1 chest ! What a start !!! Now I've got to finish my work room and find the counter top where I use my sewing machine/serger. Now where oh where did I put the project I was workin on???? I guess I should say , where oh where are the projects (plural) that I'm workin on?? Now I know I put things off a lot but I'm gettin better at finishin what I start. Last year I found my oldest daughters dress I was makin when she was 3 months old. She was born in 1975. But the fabric was still good. I think I'm gettin the hang of this being organized stuff. hehehe

I have a wonderful friend in England whose name is Linda Davies . This lady is a SUPER tatter. She has tried for 2 years to teach me to shuttle tat. Try as she might I still can't shuttle tat. So being the great friend she is , she sent me these beautiful snowflakes and a special card and a cd of her sons' wedding. The card is beautiful in wording and also has a tatted bouquet on the front. She also included 3 tatted snowflakes , one in white and 2 in metalic blue. They are so pretty that I kept them in the pkg she sent them in to keep them safe. While cleaning my "room" early this morning, I found the "safe" pkg. Then I remembered that I hadn't posted about them . SOoooooo, here they all are. Enjoy. I love this lady.

What a knot head I am. I WON the year-end prize on Stitch Map a yahoo group that is a teaching place. I've learned so darn much there that I don't have the energy to do every class they offer. IF you are interested in joining, you will have a LOAD of fun, find new friends, and learn more stitchin thingies than you ever thought possible. Really. Enjoy the pictures. I'm just proud as punch that I got all this. The only thing that concerns me is this...how did Shari get all that stuff in that little box??? That woman has talent !!!

We hope all of you had a fantastic Christmas. We here in Arkansas did. The family was together except one daughter that had to go to her inlaws for the holiday. But all in all we had fun.
The blue box that I got at Goodwill last summer went to Kathy S. of shawkldesigns.com to be emblished. And did she do a beautiful job. I'll post a picture so yall can see her beautiful work.
On another topic, on stitchmap , I won the Grand Prize. YIPPIE !!!! When it gets here I'll post a picture too. Yall should join stitchmap at the yahoo groups site. Its so fun and a wonderful place to learn new stitchery and make friends around the world. I would be completely lost if I couldn't be in this great group. Ok, ok, ok. My durn friend talked me into gettin back on facebook.(what was I thinkin??) Been on again for oh, maybe a week. Cotton-Pickin thing anyway. I still don't know what the following are:
1: what the heck is a wall and how and why do I need it?
2 : what is a poke and how does it work? Is it nasty and should I be very afraid of it?
3 : How do I post on my wall and how do others know I did? Why should I care?
4: Am I supposed to go to others "walls" and write on them? Why are they called walls?
5: What is farmville and why do I need a shovel ? Ok, I got that one. Its for shovelin all the BS that goes on a wall . Right?
I think I need to leave again . Isn't there a product called "Be Gone"? will it work on facebook.?? The fact remains , that I don't have a clue what , why and how it works and how I came to be involved !!!

A good friend of mine decided that I needed to keep in touch much better than email. So, she got me to get on facebook. I don't know a wall from a response from a poke. Yep, there is something called a poke. I"m just not sure if its a good thing or not. So my life now has something like 50 friends, some of whom I never heard of. Now, it get interesting..... I hate it. Period.....Remind me never , ever ,ever to listen to another thingy to help me keep in touch. I"M OUTTA THERE !!! Faster than a speeding bullet and much faster than I got on that crazy thing. hehehe, I'm just too dang old for that kind of change. Thats worse than hot flashes, of course, I never had those. unreasonable response

Today I recieved such a nasty email from 3 people that I've never heard of , on another group. NO not stitchers of anykind. These people took severe offense to my signature line that they embarassed me right out of the group. The signature line I thought , was not open for discussion period. I would never say the things that these people said to me and about me, no matter what.
What is our world comming to?? I guess from now on, I'm stickin to my stitching friends. No more other interest groups for me. Although , to be honest, I had more people standing up for me. I've never , ever met or not met, more narrow minded people in my life !! They only had a problem because of my mention of God. Believe it or not,one person that took up for me is an athiest . Yeah, I know, I can't spell. hehehe.Sooooooo, the sig line stayes and the other group of crabs can just suck an egg .!!!! Eileene

Ok here's the deal ...... I love needle tatting and am gonna give a go at shuttle tatting. I need to make some needle tatted snowflakes for our family Christmas tree, so I'll start with that. I may even add some "bling" to 'em. You know, embossing powder. Boy, that makes 'em sparkle in the fire light. Ok, I've talked myself into doin them. NOW, while or after I do those snowflakes, I'm gonna learn to shuttle tat if it kills me. Now that I'm waiting of another class on StitchMap, I've got some time. Whats that???? much sadness this week

Sorry for not posting in so long. Started out with problems with my heart. That was cleared up then lungs, then fibromyliga problems. Now things are lookin up. Then last Sunday at 10 am. my friend ,Gene Christensen died of cancer. She was the strongest person I'd ever know. She took my under her wing and taught me so much. She shared her genealogy with me and it looks like we may be related. WOW!!! I love her so much that I hurt at her passing. Monday night at 10:30 her hubby killed himself . He and she had been married something like 70 years. He was just broken hearted and just couldn't see himself being with out her. My heart breaks at the thought of loosing both of them. At least they will be together. I'll miss them all my life. I wonder where I will go for the companionship that I had with her.???? The week before my daughter Kim lost a set of twins she was carrying. She is broken hearted too. You know , when your children hurt it makes you hurt for them. I just don't think I can stand any more losses . My heart is very heavy !!

And soft. OMG, you'd love to have anything that soft. Oh my. I can't wait to try it out on my crazy quilt. Yall try out her site and her fibers. Today started with a bang, litterally !!!

Today started with a bang. Literally !!! Dumb ole me wanted to boil some eggs for Frank for his lunch. So I promptly put 'em in a pan of water and turned the gas on . Medium not high. Then I remembered that I needed to answer e-mail. So I did. Then I kissed Frank bye bye and sit down as I'm havin some heart pain. Weeeeellllllll, I heard this "BLAST" then another one. Sounds like it came from the kitchen so I'm thinkin we blew a circuit. I go in the kitchen to yet another 2 blast and a smell I never want to smell again. Not only did they blow up but the durn things burned to my pan. My GOOD Revere Copper Bottom pan. So I took the whole cotton pickin mess out to the porch and shut the door. Now here I am tellin yall about it. Poor poor pittiful me. hehehehe Honestly, its poor poor pittiful pan. ANd of course, Frank called to tell me to put the mail out and heard a big bang. Well, I didn't know how to lie about a big bang so i told the truth. when he finished laughin he told me I can only cook with a timer now. )^&^%#$%^) dang it anyway. It just so happenes that I have one on my stove. BUT, I need one louder. Sooooooo, I get to go shopin !!!Yippie Skippie. For further info on my "mess" I'll tell youins later. Life gets in the way sometimes

Like all of yall know, life gets in the way sometimes. Gardening, kids, house, family, graduations, and weddings. Not in that order though. Around here even dogs and cats get in the way. hehehe I have some friends that have been sending me little goodies to play with in my crazy quilting. Boy, did they fix me up good !!! Now I need to get my crazy quilting out and play again.
Kids get out of school tomorrow. Then its vollyball practice and basketball practice. Runnin kids around sure gets ya busy. But I do have fun too. I'll just take my stitchin with me . That way life can't get in the way too much. Gotta go , school is handin out awards today. Ariel made the honor roll and Sydney got a good citizen award. Hugs, to all , Eileene

Yall ever heard of those little green bags that ya grow 'maters in upside down??? I can't think of the name now. Anyway I've murdered over a dozen plants by using them. SO I finally figured out that there is somethin not right. Go figure. Now I'm a pretty good hand at raisin veggies and such. But this thing has got me stumped. I put the little plant (ohhhh so cute) in the bottom of the thing and then add the potting soil. NOt the cheap stuff for this little plant. No I got the 'spensive stuff. Two days later my cute little plant is deader than a mackrel. So now I go get a 'spensiver plant .You know bigger. I'm gonna give this one a try AGAIN. Yall got any ideas of what I'm doin wrong?? I followed directions. I even looked at the pictures. Looks just like mine EXCEPT theirs has red tomatoes hangin all over it and mine looks like the rear end of a dead horse! Any and all ideas will be considered. I thank you and my bigger 'mater plant thanks you.

BTW, happy April fools day ........There was America's home video on the other day and I decided to watch. wellllllll, this kid puts saran wrap on the door frame at the height of his dad. Ya can't see the stuff , so this kid acts like he falls and starts yelling for his dad to come quick. He did and ran smack dab into the wrap. Scared the bejeppers outta him. hehehehe I loved it so wanted to do it to Ariel, one of my granddaughters. But, it is a school day so I'll wait for Saturday. hehehehehhe I just can't wait. FIRE, FIRE, FIRE ......

Well during a lot of spring cleaning I decided to go get the mail. The whole area was engulfed in smoke. Couldn't see much of anything. I called my neighbor Ferris and asked what was causing the smoke. He said another of our neighbors has started a burn and it had gotten away from him. Ferris ran to help and still couldn't control it so they called the volunteer fire dept. There were fire trucks and fighters from 5 towns close by and people every where. The fire got within 50 feet of our house and even closer to Ferris' house. The fire took in over 200 acres and a few hours to get in control. Trucks came thru our place and tore down a gate so they could save our place. Boy it did get close. Scared the britches off me. I know we were all scared though. But prayers were answered and the wind turned and the fighters put out most of the fire around our houses. So now the house cleaning will wait til I get my breath back. WHEW!!! Gotta go rest now. I'm pooped!! Eileene

I belong to the greatest group alive. Its called Stitchmap and is a yahoo group. We are a teaching/learning group of crazy ladies that enjoy each others company. Right now we have a basic crazy quilting class going----a beginner tatting class, color theory class and a hardanger class. We have probably 25 or 30 classes that will be taught. I'm on a hot roll now. Well, actually its a hot roll with butter. I know, I'm supposed to be on a lifestyle change. I am. I"m changen from 2 hot rolls with butter to one hot roll with butter. hehehe However, I have lost 6 more lbs. (Bet I gain 'em back, don't yall??)
Well, our 36th anniversary was on the 9th. We went down a got steaks then Frank cooked 'em. Yummy. We try to have a date night every other Friday night. Tonight will be a surprise( for me) . I have to clean house the its time to run kids around ,then, its my turn. Only thing is, I'm gonna be too pooped to enjoy the night. Well, dang it. Oh well, there is always Saturday night. Oh rats, its a conference at church. Well, I love it too. Get to see all my old friends again. Too bad they are all gettin old and I'm still a spring chicken. Didn't loose my looks or figure. IF you believe that.....well, there is no hope for you. hehehe
one grandson has strep throat and now the other 5 will come down with it. I'll probably be the next one. Dang it. Oh well, there is enough girl scout cookies and diet coke to get me thru. If it only lasts 15 minutes.Hope my little Caden is feelin better. On the phone , it sounds like he's fine !!Little stinker.

Yippie the snow is gone.....for now

When I was a little girl (you know like 10 years ago) my grandma always told me that when snow lays on the ground for 3 days , there would be another on top of it. Well, guess what??? It happened here. We got 8 inches and it stayed for 3 days then we got another 2 inches on top of it. NOw today , we don't have any except for the shadows. WHEW!!! I love to watch it snow and watch the kids out building snow men and makin snow angels. But my limit is 4 days then I want it gone and am ready to garden. Ya know , a person is just never satisfied. Go figure.
Brandi and Frank are putting down wood floors in Brandi's house. Sure pretty. Kim and Brannon got the kitchen finished and a new stove. Haven't seen it yet but Brandi says its really pretty. I 'm trying to clean house between hospital stays. Not easy. We hope to finish our remodeling this year. Kinda havin second thoughts about the hall way. Oh well Frank will figure out somethin. Gotta go for now.....I need to go supervise Frank and Brandi .hehehe Eileene

The snow is melting....YEA!!!

Well, we got 8 inches of snow on Friday night and Saturday. I couldn't even get out of the house so I missed church. I really have missed loads of church because of my health. I'm using my treadmill trying to loose some weight but also , to strengthen my heart and lungs. So now when I can I'll go to church . Nothin new around here so I'm getting my project ready for my Basic Crazy Quilt Class. I'm finishin up my spider web rose and will start on my spider web. Gonna have to rip it out cause it looks like my spider had one heck of a night just before she started her web. Well, as it turned out Kim got a new stove !! Brannon knew that if she did not get a new stove , he'd never eat again. So , to Home Depot and Lowes they go. Found one and got it home. NOw we'll see if she cooks. Hmmmmmm Kim ate the cheesecake too B T W. My child !!

NOw for the history of the "giant treadmill". I've finally got that sucker where if it doesn't do what I want it too. OFF goes the key. Ha, Now who's boss you cotton pickin killer?? I found that it will let you enter your weight so it'll tell you how long you need to be on it. Mine just said "those numbers don't go that high". Dang thing. So now I get on it and can stay on it for 3 whole minutes at #1 incline. Yea me !! Don't yall dare laugh at me. You know how much sweat and breathin hard I exerted .?? And that's just gettin out of my chair . Wonder if there is a sweat thingy to measure how much I sweat when I do get on it? BT W. It has a fan on it too.Course, I'm too short for it to hit me. Team Lifestyle or whatever

There is a group of us ,not dietin, but loosin weight. The stitchmap group at Yahoo is so fun. Anyway, there are a few of us needin to lose some weight. Well, I'm thinkin, I ain't gonna diet. I'd starve to death. But guess what? In a little over a week I've lost 6 lbs. YEA for me. The others are doin so good. My heart doc said I need more excerise so Frank bought me a treadmill. Now yall, I'm a lady that has fallen UNDER my van and stepped in a hole and broke my leg in 3 places and dislocated my ankle. Do I sound like the type of person that should be on a treadmill?? I don't think so. Ok, got the GIANT treadmill up and I got on. IT says in the book, " put KEY on spot and if I start to fall off or it goes too fast,renmove key and it'll stop. Well, that ain't gonna happen for me. In the first place the "key" was on a 2 foot cord. I'wouldv'e had to fall off and slid for a foot before the sucker would stop. Which is just about how it happened. I had feet and elbows goin ever which away and the "Key" was still on the dumb thing. Frank is no help , he's laughin too hard. Brandi is no help, she eatin. So that left me and the "key". After I was whooped off the thing, I decided to shorten that cord. So now its about 4 inches long and its around my neck. Don't let people lie to ya sayin"anyone can use a treadmill". Cause it just ain't true !!!

I got a call from Kim, my oldest daughter last night. Her voice was so serious that I thought someone died!! She said she about burned the house down , then busted out laughing. I'm thinkin, what the heck is so funny about burnin down the dang house. Evidently she had been cookin and had a cheesecake done. Now yall, when this child of mine fixes a cheesecake,she fixes a cheesecake ! Anyway, she put some fish sticks in the oven then promptly forgot about them. Sounds like Kim. I guess one of the kids saw them on fire in the oven. She yells at Brannon , he grabs the fire extenguisher , she grabs the cheesecake. Her stove is ruined and now probably needs a new one and what does she think about? SAVEIN THE DANG CHEESECAKE !!! I just about laughed my butt off. My Kimo is the most funny weirdo I know. Fits right in this family, I'm tellin ya. Brannon called his brother , who is the firechief in his town, to see if the stove could be used again without killin anyone with the chemicals used to put out the fire. So the saga lives on . Till next installment when we find out if Kim gets a new stove and who ate the cheesecake?. Till them, Eileene , mother to 2 weird kids . Frank swears its like mother like daughter. hehehe

I'm trying to learn shuttle tatting from a dear friend in England, Linda Davies aka toptattyhead. She does wonderful , beautiful work. Oh my, goodbye my sweets.......oreos, fudge, peanut butter cups, and the list goes on and on. A few friends and myself are gonna TRY to loose some weight in 2010. I know I'll never make it, I'll starve the first week and may not even make it that long. So , goodbye to all my fat little hidden treats.......Parting is such sweet sorrow !!! So today ,the last day of 2009 , I have to get rid of 9 popsicles and a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi. OK I've about got that taken care of. I only have 4 more popsicles to go. I sure hope a chocolate cake doesn't attack me during the night. Well, since I'm soooooo sad, I'd better go for now. Happy New Year to all yall skinny little devils. hehehe

With this being the end of the month and the end of 2009, I give thanks for the friends and family I have. We're all warm and cozy, well fed and even a little bit silly. The children are ready for another Christmas vacation. They had a snowy Christmas and it was just lovely. They go back to school next Monday .They are ready to tell the friends at school what Santa brought and see what they got but are not ready to study just yet. For my part I truly enjoyed having all my little family around me if even for just a day. My DH Frank has had 2 weeks off and has worked most every day. Oh well, we try to keep him busy so he won't feel left out. hehehe This New Years eve we'll have our church missionary's over for Brisket, Cole Slaw and hot rolls. (Homemade , of course). Probably need a couple of chocolate pies and banana pudding. yum yum. I got to hear from my friends this year and was very glad they are in good spirits. Gotta go for now, 2 little grandsons are here and hungry for a (what else) a popsicle. Happy new year and safety and love for all. A couple of days ago I saw an ad for a treadle sewing machine. Lady was asking $150.00. She came down to $80.00 then $35.00. The next day she called me and asken if I had something to trade. WOW right up my alley. I gave her 4 scrapbooking books and a box of scrapbookin scissors and punches. She gave me the treadle. I didn't have to pay anything. Now just to learn how to use the bobbins. It didn't come with a manual. Gotta go, Eileene

Well, it seems that our family survived "turkey day". YEA Now however, we're all fat and sassy. We're even more stuffed than the turkey.hehehe On "black friday" we stayed home. Thats where its safe. I've had a piece of fabric with chickens/roosters on it and could not for the life of me figure out what to do with it on a cq. Well, now I do. She came up with a double creten stitch and the way she put it together it looks like chicken wire, aka fencing. Now I know exactly what to do with it. When I get it finished, problably after Christmas, I'll post it . OF COURSE, yall know my camera doesn't always agree with me about postin anything. Good news for me

Well, its been a while since I last posted. They found that after a stress test that I have a great heart. All is well there. But during the test my blood pressure went to 250. So they had to stop the test. BUT, I just need meds to keep it straight. Now maybe I can get on with my Christmas shopping and decorating. I've also got to get on with my wall hanging for Christmas. I always start Christmas stuff in January. This year , not so much. So, here it is last minute and this elf has hit a hard spot. Brain cells not workin at all. I just go blank when I try to think what to get for who. Its gotta get better. Eileene

Well, today is the 1st. day o f November. Tomorrow is one of my granddaughters birthday. Ali will be 10 years old. Yay !!! She is a cutie , just like the rest of my grandkids. The 5th is my daughters b-day. So happy birthday to both of you little dickins. This is a beautiful day in Arkansas and Frank is soooooo happy the mowin season is almost over. Believe it or not , he mowed yesterday. Sure looks pretty . 'bout time to fix lunch so I'll go peel potatoes. Time to get the plants inside since the weather is gettin cooler. Well, I've finally decided I'm gettin old. This mornin I was slippin on my sneakers and got a hitch in my get along. Dang it . So no church today again. Brandi has to work today so I get up and go to her house at 5:30 am. This mornin I had ice , yep I said ice, on my car. Isn't it a little early for ice? So much for Al Gore's global warming. ha ha.

I've been workin on my stitches in embroidery so I can make some pretty things for Christmas. You know, crazy quilt thingeys. I've about got my thread roll up finished , only to find that I went too far. Whew, I'm sure glad Kathy is a patient person. Also, I'm workin on a Christmas wall hangin in crazy quiltin. If I can ever remember how to upload pictures , I've got some doozies.

Hey yall, fall is here. Dang its cold. We slept with the doors and windows open and got up to COLD weather. Time to get out the warm clothes and electric blanket. I'm usually pretty warm blooded so I don''t get too cold. But since the heart problem I'm on blood thinners and now freeze. Go figure. Now I can get out my quilting frames and finish the quilt I was workin on in the spring. hehehehe Great way to stay warm.Will I finish this this year or next.??? depends on how cold it gets. Heart scare over

Yippie, they said I had a 70-90 % blockage . They went in with the cath and put in a stent. I'm now home and breathing much easier. I'll have to go to heart rehab but it is something I'm gonna like to do , I think. Thanks for all the cards and prayers. I needed all of them. Hugs, Eileene

I just recieved an honor !! I've been doing crazyquilts for maybe a year or less. I'm in a crazy quilt class with other ladies and our mentor is Kathy Shaw. Today she emailed me and said she was using 2 of my blocks as examples for our class. Not having seen the lesson I said I was so glad to be a part of it. Got a terrific gift yesterday

Yesterday I went to the mail box and found the most surprise gift . Kathy Shaw had sent me a card and a box of thread (rubi) and several pkgs. of needles to stitch with. I had told her that the doctor had found a problem with my heart and would be just stitchin for a while. So she decided to see that I have enough stitchin stuff to keep me occupied for a long while. Last week I got another box of thread, ribbon, charms,fabric and I can't even remember what all was in the box, from CJ of CJ's stuff. ALL in my favorite color of RED !!! Now if I could just find someone to clean the house , all I'd have to do is STITCH!! I've got so many friends that I feel very humble with all the attention they give me. I love ya loads , gal friends. They are all very good ladies and I think every one should have at least one friend like they are to me. I'm very blessed to have friends all over the world. here are the rest of my shuttles. Some are plastic,celuloid, copper, metal , some are homemade in wood. The little ones like the hedgehog I made. There is a lady , sorry I don't know her name or I'd give her credit , that makes little hedgehog shuttles. They are so cute that I thought I'd give it a try. The other wooden one is a lady hoare( I think) and my DH made it for me. The black one is from black African wood and came from Karen Patten in Tennessee. I have several of her mothers shuttles as she does not tat anymore. Only 1 MOP and it came with the scissors and hook holder. Hope yall enjoy these. I love 'em. Eileene

I'm soooooo concerened about our country and the freedoms that we appear to be loosing. Here is a crazy quilt block I made this weekend. Hope yall like it. Don't be afraid to speak your mind !! Loads of my family fought and died for the freedoms that we enjoy today. Most families has lost someone that did the same thing. Yall, its sooooo hot and humid here. Now we have clouds and get some relief from the sun. Its been so dang hot that my tomatoes just wilted and croaked. Nary a tomato at all survived. so no cannin or fresh tomatoes this year. Hope yall have a very pleasant weekend. Frank has been out mowin and weed wackin the yard. Sure does look pretty. My son in law , Brannon , has been puttin in a new diswasher for Kimo. Brandi has been off all week on vacation. Kim is into Twilight and scrapbookin. With 3 kids I don't know how she does it. Brandi,also has 3 kids, has been paintin her house inside. Lookin great. Sure has a much lighter look than before. She sure has an eye for color. Well, I'm gonna work on my stitch challenge and my cq class today. Also , have a needlebook I'm doin with Judyth of Crazy Judyth fame. hehehe She is a good person and a great friend. New Place to shop Freecycle

I don't know how many of you freecycle,but I do . If you will Google search "freecycle" you will find a wonderful place to not only shop but to get rid of some of your "stuff". Me, I don't have junk....Frank has junk, I only have great stuff.hehehe You can give it to someone and they can use it. All you have to do is list it and let them pick it up. NO muss no fuss. I love it. I've gotten fabric, trim , a couch and a table. All for free. So, try it. I know, all I'm doin is tradein my junk for someone elses stuff. But it works for me. Also, you can list things that ya want. I just got a sewing machine the other day. Gave it away before I even got home. Lady needed one for her mom that is visiting from Italy. She likes to sew for her grandchildren. Eileene
